One of the main mistakes people make when removing lace front wigs is to rush the process, forgetting the removal sprays and peeling the hair piece straight off their head if the wig starts to lift. As a lace front wig is secured at the front with adhesive (and in the case of a full lace wig, around it's entire circumference) the adhesive needs to be removed gently from both the skin and the wig to avoid damage to both and to ensure all the adhesive is removed ready for the next application. Leaving adhesive on the wig can prevent proper adhesion next time around and may damage the lace seam.

2. Using abrasive materials to apply the adhesive remover and rubbing too much

Another common mistake is to use abrasive materials to apply adhesive remover such as cotton wool or paper towels. Both of these materials can damage the delicate lace edging of the lace front wig as well as being unkind to the skin due to the back and forth rubbing motion.

How to remove your lace front or full lace wig without damaging your wig or hairpiece

You need:

* Adhesive remover
* Cotton buds (q-tips) or small soft brush
* Soap and water
* Wig stand
* Mirror
* Hair Clips (large ones)

Step 1

Clip the lace front or full lace wig hair back from the face and secure at the crown. This should give you a clear view of the lace seam and ensure that no adhesive remover comes into contact with the wig hair.

Step 2

Apply an adhesive remover. There are two types of adhesive remover:

* Alcohol based
* Oil based

Alcohol based adhesive remover

The advantages of alcohol based removers is that they are fast acting and do not leave a residue on the skin or hairpiece. They do however have to be applied using a cotton bud (q-tip) or small soft brush (like the adhesive application brush) as they cannot be sprayed towards the face. The alcohol also evaporates quickly which is why some people rub too harshly to remove the adhesive before the alcohol based remover is gone. It can also be problematic for people with sensitive skin as it can dry the skin and cause irritation.

Dip the cotton bud in the lace wig adhesive remover and apply to the lace seam all along the edge. Leave for a few minutes until the seam visibly starts to peel away from the face on its own. When it does this apply more adhesive remover along the underside of the seam. Work carefully to ensure all the edges are covered.

Oil based lace wig adhesive remover

If you have sensitive skin oil based adhesive remover is recommended as these are gentle on the skin and can be used to remove adhesive from the wig, the skin and other parts of the body. Oil adhesive removers like C22 (a pleasant, fast acting, citrus scented remover) can also be left on the skin or hair piece for soaking of more stubborn adhesives. Unlike the alcohol based adhesive removers, they do not evaporate or dry out the skin. They are also provided in spray form so you simply spray along the lace front wig seam as oppose to applying with a cotton bud and do as detailed above.

Once the lace wig adhesive has been successfully removed, the oil based remover must be completely washed off the skin using soap and water and off the hair piece using shampoo and water. The oily residue can prevent proper adhesion of the wig next time around.

Step 3

When the adhesive remover has had a chance to work (as per manufacturer's instructions) gently peel the lace seam away from the face working methodically from one side to the other.

Step 4

When the lace wig seams are completely away from the face, lift the wig off the head and place on your wig stand for easy maintenance and to retain its shape.

Step 5

Cleanse your face to remove traces of adhesive and adhesive remover. What to do if you have sensitive skin-skin test.
As with hair colorants it is a good idea to test your skin for sensitivity to adhesive or removers before using them. You can do this by applying a small amount to the inside of one wrist, covering in clear plastic film (cling film is good) for 24-48hrs. If an allergic reaction occurs remove the adhesive or adhesive remover immediately and consult your Doctor.

Top tip for removing trace glue from lace wig - use a mirror! If after removing your lace wig you find that there is still adhesive on the wig you can rub a handheld mirror along the inside seam where the adhesive is. The adhesive should come off on the mirror!

Always handle the full lace wig or lace front wig with care as the lace can rip if pulled too hard or handled carelessly.

Oxford Botanical Gardens are some of the most beautiful gardens in England, with many rare species and breath taking sites to be seen. Below, you will find a list of the ten must-see exhibits that any visitor would enjoy.

1. A wonderful warmup for the rest of the garden is the bearded iris bed. If caught when the bed is in full bloom, it's hard not to be impressed by the multitudes of irises. There are even some species of iris that can only be found at Oxford, and are not grown anywhere else in the world.

2. The 1648 collection is an almost stereotypically English garden. It's full of tulips, hazel, and other species that grow well in the English climate. This particular collection is based around a sampling of the 1648 catalogue of the botanical gardens' collections.

3. A stroll through the water garden should be on the list of any visitors to the botanical gardens. The newly added river walk expanded this garden in 2001. There's also a pond which is home to many types of English fowl, such as the moorhen and the nesting coot. This garden is also known for its dragonflies.

4. The Danby gateway is one of the three entrances to the gardens that were built in 1633. The early Baroque style of the gateway marks the first time that classical architecture was used at Oxford. It was built by the famous English architect, Nicholas Stone. While visitors today probably won't care that Charles I and Charles II are the men in classical poses on the archway, the Danby gateway is still a remarkable piece of architectural history and beauty.

5. Restricted by the gateway's size, the rock garden's stones all had to be hand-delivered on carts due to the narrowness of the gateway and the width of a modern automobile. The plants found in this garden tend to come from high altitudes. The east side of the rock garden contains plants from Europe, while the west side contains plants from all over the world.

6. Those familiar with Lewis Carroll's work might recognize the tropical lily house. Featured in the original artwork by Sir John Tenniel, visitors will appreciate the literary connection to Alice In Wonderland as well as the water lilies that are grown in the tanks. 10. If you came to the Oxford Botanical Gardens, the core exhibit should be at the top of the list of things to see. The family beds comprise the majority of the walled garden. How long do you need before you can tell the person you are dating thinks you are ‘the one’? A year? A month? Just a few weeks?

According to academic journal ‘Archives of Sexual Behavior’, we should be able to tell if the person we are dating is really, really into us in less than 10 seconds, at least if that person’s a man. Because if a man looks into a woman’s eyes for over 8.2 seconds, says the journal, they are smitten.

But while it seems the longer a man looks into the eyes of the woman he’s dating, the more interested he is, the same is apparently not true of the fairer sex...

The research:

Researchers used hidden cameras to track the eye movements of 115 students while they met and spoke to actors and actresses. They then asked the students to rate how attractive they found the person they were speaking with.

The results:

The study revealed a stark difference between the men and the women who were tested.

The men in the study held a woman’s gaze for an average of 8.2 seconds if they found them beautiful, going down to just 4.5 seconds on average if they did not find them particularly attractive.

Women, however, looked at their male counterparts for the same amount of time whether or not they found them attractive.

Why the difference?

The researchers concluded that while men use eye contact to look for fit and fertile mates, women are more wary of attracting unwanted attention since they can risk unwanted pregnancy and the potential to become a single mother.

What we think:

It’s all very well trying to measure how long the person we are dating is looking at us, but other environmental factors could be at work which might lead to a big misunderstanding if we take this research too seriously when dating.

The problem with this outcome...

While a non-stop gaze might be one way to tell if the man we are dating is in love, a continuous stare for more than eight seconds can come across as a little unnerving for a woman (count it out – eight seconds is actually a really long time to look into someone’s eyes).

And what about if you’re a woman who wants to show the man you’re dating that you’re interested? Evolution seems to have removed our ability to give naturally clear signals in case we might attract the wrong type of mate.

There is nothing worse than arriving at your destination whether it's for business or vacation and being exhausted and over tired. In some cases the sleep that you will get on a plane is the only sleep you may have for that day so it's very important to get as good of a rest in as possible on the plane as you can.

Possibly the most important step to getting some sleep on the plane is your choice in seats. Exit rows give you more legroom, however they're often some of the first rows to fully booked up so the chances of you having an open seat next to you are pretty slim.

Schnoodle

A Schnoodle is a schnauzer and poodle cross breed dog. Both of these breeds come in various sizes but basically, there is a small, medium and large variety of both the poodle and the schnauzer. The Schnoodle is most generally a cross done with the smaller varieties that weigh around 7-8 pounds.

This breed can take on the coat characteristics of either of the original breeds, which means there will be some disparity. Poodles have soft curly coats while the schnauzer has a coarser wiry coat. English Boodle

This is a mixture of the English bulldog and the standard poodle. Gastresophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a syndrome due to structural or functional incompetence of the lower esophageal sphincter, which permits retrograde flow of acidic gastric juice into the esophagus. The underlying abnormality in GERD is apparently inborn and irreversible and the incidence increases with age. In addition to reflux, most cases involve disordered gastric motility and prolonged gastric emptying time. Symptoms include recurring epigastric (area below the breastbone) and retrosternal (behind the sternum) distress, usually described as heartburn, along with varying degrees of belching, nausea, gagging, cough, or hoarseness. GERD is more common in men.

There are certain lifestyle factors that aggravate GERD. Most of these factors affect certain characteristics of the esophagus or the stomach. These factors may either reduce the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) pressure, directly irritate the esophageal mucosa, increase the intraabdominal pressure, promote reflux due to factors related to gravity, or affect the gastrointestinal tract in some mechanism that depends on a lot of factors and varies greatly from individual to individual. The latter, of course, pertains to emotional disturbances.

The LES is the musculature of the junction between the stomach and the esophagus which is tonically active except during swallowing and is responsible for preventing the reflux of food in the stomach towards the esophagus. Certain foods that lower the LES pressure include fats, sugar, chocolate, onions and coffee. Eating large meals also promote reflux. Smoking and alcoholism, the culprits of a wide array of diseases, also reduce the LES pressure. Medications that could lower the LES pressure include theophylline, anticholinergics, diazepam, nitrates, calcium channel blockers and even progesterone — a naturally occurring hormone that can be synthesized artificially for use as a contraceptive.

The esophageal mucosa is a mucus-secreting membrane lining the inner surface of the esophagus. Its mucous secretion helps lubricate the food just swallowed and hence allow easy and quick passage of food towards the stomach. Foods that directly irritate this layer include citrus products, tomato-based products, spicy foods, tea, cola drinks and (again) coffee. Aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), tetracycline, quinidine, aldreonates, potassium tablets and iron salts are the medications that may directly irritate the esophageal mucosa.

Intraabdominal pressure, in a layman’s parlance, is the pressure within the belly. When this is increased as when you bend over, lift some weight, strain at your stool and even when you exercise, your GERD symptoms may occur or may even be exacerbated.

When you lie supine (lie face upward) or lie on the right side, gravity tends to pull your gastric contents downward, promoting reflux.

Great Danes draw attention wherever they go due to their enormous size. However, these dogs have a tendency to be very gentle and are sensitive souls. They are among the world's tallest dog breeds and a Great Dane is the record holder as the world's tallest dog, standing over seven feet high when on his hind legs.

Great Danes are considered to be a working breed and they have strong powerful bodies. They were once popularly used as hunting dogs for wild boar. Today, these dogs are primarily companion animals. They are beautiful dogs that have a variety of coat colors.

A fawn Great Dane is primarily golden with a black mask around the eyes. A brindle has fawn markings along with black stripes that sometimes look like tiger stripes. Blue and black are also common colors and these dogs often have white spots on the chest and toes but for show purposes, these markings are not desired. Harlequin refers to patterns where the colors of black and white are both present in patches over the body. Mantle is a coat color where the dog is black and white but he has a solid black color covering his back and skull.

Great Danes are excellent pets as far as temperament goes. The get along well with other dogs and family pets like cats. They are also good with children as they are very gentle. However due to their huge size, it is always wise to supervise them around small children. Some dogs may hearken back to their origins and chase small animals but that is usually an individual quirk and not reflective of the breed in general.

Even though Great Danes were once hunting dogs, they don't need a whole lot of exercise. They do need to be exercised daily in order to stay healthy but these dogs make good apartment dwellers even though they are large simply because they are quite happy to lounge around most of the day. When the puppies are growing it is important not to give them too much exercise because they grow so fast it can cause them bone problems.

Like other big dog breeds, Great Danes have slow metabolisms especially when compared to small breeds. They eat surprisingly less than you might think. They are prone to gastrointestinal problems like bloat and GDV. GDV is a painful twisting of the stomach that can come on quickly and be fatal. It may be triggered by rapidly drinking water or over exercising right before or after eating. Great Danes are also predisposed to cardiac diseases that can shorten their lifespan. These dogs typically live eight to ten years but can live as long as fourteen. This dog breed also has its own genetic disorders. If a dog has white coloring near an organ then it will not develop. For example, if the dog is white around the eyes he will be blind and if he is white around the ears he will be deaf.

Unfortunately, many Great Danes are discarded because their owners where not prepared for life with a huge dog, especially one growing up through the puppy stage. Puppies grow rapidly and can weigh a hundred pounds while still having the mentality and maturity of a rambunctious puppy.

Great Danes thrive on human companionship and are not good dogs to leave alone in the yard for the purpose of being a watchdog. They are much happier and more well adjusted when allowed to live indoors as part of the family unit.

Many job seekers are tempted to include as much information as possible on their resumes. More information always means a better shot at the job, right? Wrong. Depending on the information you include, you may find that hiring managers are actually turned off by your resume. So before going out on a ledge and taking too many chances, let’s take a look at some items that you can indeed leave off of your resume.

Your Interests and Hobbies

Unless your interests or hobbies are directly related to your career aspirations – and the specific position – there’s no need to add them to your resume. The fact that you love to walk along the beach at night and play Eric Clapton songs on your guitar is great for personal character building, but not so much so for a human resources position or the like.

Your Picture

Another item that you don’t need to add to your resume is your picture. Nowadays, if you have some type of online presence, it’s likely that your picture will pop up anyway. Leave the headshots out of your resume unless you're an actor, and refrain from adding a picture unless your potential employer asks for one.

Your References

There was a time that placing your references right on the resume was customary. Then over time, this practice stopped and the simple statement “References available upon request” was used instead. However, since then, experts have noted that neither the references, nor the statement is necessary. Hiring managers know to ask for references if they really need them--rest assured, if they require a reference, they'll be quick to contact you.

Your Self-Centered Objective

While you may think that the best type of objective is one that starts with “To gain experience in…” many employers are not interested in what you want to gain experience in. They want to know what you can do for them. So in your objective, rather than starting with the previous statement, it’s good to create a summary of your qualifications by displaying your accomplishments and background.

Your Personal Details

Something else that you can leave off of your resume is your personal details, such as your height, weight, age, race or religion. Adding personal details is similar to adding a picture--it's unnecessary and can be off-putting for your potential employer. So again, unless you’re in the entertainment business, you can leave the personal details off of your resume.

Menial Details

Sometimes it’s tempting to include every detail of your previous job that you remember being responsible for. Hiring managers would rather see major points of interest than read through your whole career to try to sift out the critical parts. Cut out the filler, and only include facts that show how you're an exceptional candidate with a string of accomplishments under your belt.

Remember, hiring managers are busy people who don’t want to dig to find what they want to know. So the cleaner and more focused you can make your resume, the better your chances will be of getting a call back.

Most shy people try to console themselves with words like “I'm not shy. I'm just a quiet person.” How funny, because those two concepts - that of shyness and quietness - though they may seem similar, are from two different worlds. A quiet person has no problem mixing with crowds, but will only speak if they have something worth saying. Otherwise, they just shut up and listen. The shy person on the other hand, is bursting with the desire to speak, but is unable to because of the throat-clamping feeling of anxiety.

It's easy to overcome shyness! All you need to do is acknowledge that you are shy, and that you want to take steps to curing the defect. Here are seven tips for you to overcome shyness:

* Learn to love yourself. Appreciate that you are shy, but not retarded. Do not let the feeling that you are socially redundant because you are shy permeate into your mind. Your shyness is not a disadvantage therefore you should come to terms with it. This is the first step to banishing shyness.

* Seek out your discomfort. If you do not exercise your conversational activities, you might not lose of the feeling of shyness. Another step to overcome shyness is by deliberately seeking out social events to attend. The more you subject yourself to these events, the more you are forcing your hand - it might be stressful, but eventually it would be worth it.

* Don't run away from the situation. If you felt your last social conversation was a disaster and you have sworn never to have anything with it again, then you are running away from reality. I advice you instead to look at things differently and stay on course, it will definitely be worth it!

* Try to calm down. The thing with shy minds is that are constantly thinking: thinking up worst-case scenarios in any discussion event. As a result, with a mind so filled up with bogeys and visions of conversation disasters, it is not surprising that you become tongue tied. Take breathing exercises and empty your mind of these thoughts instead.

* Practice in mild settings: a family gathering may work the trick. Try to see how you can get along with members of the family - with whom you are more amiable - and by doing this you are building up for the grand scenario.

* Imagine a situation, and imagine what you could possibly do to feel more at ease. I have discovered that mental visualization tends to work the trick.

* Try to think more of others than all the ways you can mess up the situation. Listen to them and consider what they are saying. That way, you can get a hold on the conversation and you wont' have to stutter to respond to them.

These skills should be practiced, and you should bear in mind that it is not an overnight thing, as it will be slow, but surely you will snap out of your shyness.
